Inverse Problems as Statisticssteven

چکیده
What mathematicians, scientists, engineers, and statisticians mean by \inverse problem" diiers. For a statistician, an inverse problem is an inference or estimation problem. The data are nite in number and contain errors, as they do in classical estimation or inference problems, and the unknown typically is innnite-dimensional, as it is in nonparametric regression. The additional complication in an inverse problem is that the data are only indirectly related to the unknown. Canonical abstract formulations of statistical estimation problems subsume this complication by allowing probability distributions to be indexed in more-or-less arbitrary ways by parameters, which can be innnite-dimensional. Standard statistical concepts, questions, and considerations such as bias, variance, mean-squared error, identiiability, consistency , eeciency, and various forms of optimality, apply to inverse problems. This article discusses inverse problems as statistical estimation and inference problems, and points to the literature for a variety of techniques and results.

Inverse and Reverse 2-facility Location Problems with Equality Measures on a Network
In this paper we consider the inverse and reverse network facility location problems with considering the equity on servers. The inverse facility location with equality measure deals with modifying the weights of vertices with minimum cost, such that the difference between the maximum and minimum weights of clients allocated to the given facilities is minimized. On the other hand, the reverse c...
متن کاملIll-Posed and Linear Inverse Problems
In this paper ill-posed linear inverse problems that arises in many applications is considered. The instability of special kind of these problems and it's relation to the kernel, is described. For finding a stable solution to these problems we need some kind of regularization that is presented. The results have been applied for a singular equation.
متن کامل2D inversion of gravity data in bedrock identification (case study: a part of Qotrum plain in Yazd province)
Introduction The gravity method measures the vertical component of the acceleration at the Earth’s surface. The earth’s gravity field is affected by the density of different rocks and structures. Therefore, this method can be used in mineral exploration or studying the subsurface cavities and structures such as bedrocks, channels, and dikes. Inverse modeling is useful in understanding the p...
متن کاملInverse Laplace transform method for multiple solutions of the fractional Sturm-Liouville problems
In this paper, inverse Laplace transform method is applied to analytical solution of the fractional Sturm-Liouville problems. The method introduces a powerful tool for solving the eigenvalues of the fractional Sturm-Liouville problems. The results how that the simplicity and efficiency of this method.
متن کاملSolving Inverse Sturm-Liouville Problems with Transmission Conditions on Two Disjoint Intervals
In the present paper, some spectral properties of boundary value problems of Sturm-Liouville type on two disjoint bounded intervals with transmission boundary conditions are investigated. Uniqueness theorems for the solution of the inverse problem are proved, then we study the reconstructing of the coefficients of the Sturm-Liouville problem by the spectrtal mappings method.
